I don’t know why, but I can not kick my bum to get up early for morning photography.

Here Sydney is in the middle of winter season, it is perfect to do sunrise photography as it comes up rather late, right?

I don’t know why, but I can not take extra half hour for evening photography after work or weekends.

Here Sydney is in the middle of winter season, so it is perfect to do sunset photography as it sets down rather early, right?

Am I facing motivation issue?

Maybe….

Am I getting old and tired?

Well perhaps…..

So I tried to hitch myself up for it no matter what, and I did some night photography at Darling Harbour, Sydney, after work.

It was good choice because I do not like Darling Harbour and I hence do not head over usually, which means, I rarely took shots of it and there are plenty of challenges to take or try things.

A little confession here, that eventually I took three consecutive nights in a row to photograph at the same spots at Darling Harbour.

Why, because I was shocked at the quality of those I had photographed on my first evening, then I went back on the next evening.  The shots on second night were slightly better than first night, but still some were not good.

The third time’s the charm.  The photos taken at third night was somehow satisfiable.  Same time, I was feeling comfortable at myself having some focused time with photography.  And, I found myself that I have never had motivation issue (but I still don’t know what made me sluggish then).

Anyway, please let me share some of them out of the struggled three nights in shooting.  🙂

I’m not keen on Darling Harbour either, Makiko. It’s so over built and touristy. Your photos are making it more interesting though.

Exactly right Jane, that’s exactly how I do avoid the area to go. 🙂 Thank you for your comment, rare spot to go incites me to photograph there in my perspectives. 🙂

    Nice photos.

As for motivation, for me, it goes in spurts. I may go a week without taking any photos and then, when I feel like it, I take a few. Regardless of how I do it, I generally end up with round 450 photos as a combination of phone and Nikon cameras photos per month.

Meaning, I don’t worry about it much if I go a while without taking photos or making the effort to head out there.

Wow 450 photos per month, thats great Emilio! That you certainly would not need to do worry about the motivation, I believe. 🙂 You must have been taking a good on/off balance for photo shooting! My issue is, that I always bump into something interests me only when I do not carry my camera and it gets me a bit traumatic hahaha. I will make use my iPhone camera a little more. 🙂

Ah . . . that’s one difference. I don’t walk out of my place without grabbing the camera. That’s one of the reasons that last year I purchased the P900; it’s smaller and has has a great range of zoom. Also, while I don’t use it often, there’s always a tripod in the car.

Plus, yes, about 200 of those are phone photos.

Beautiful captures. My struggle is getting out at sunset. Doesn’t happen often, if at all. 😉

Thank you Irene! 🙂 I first imagined that taking sunset must be easier in summer season, but it may be a bit tricky in time as it could crash a lot of your plans or stuff to do in the evening. 🙂

Actually, I am such a morning person that it is hard to get out the door at sunset. 😉

I think it is quite normal not to want to get up early on Winter mornings. Curling up in front of the tele on Winter evenings is also a good plan. 🙂

I really like that first photo. It must be difficult to get a different variety of shots in the city, as there is a tendency to feel very hemmed in. You have done well, Makiko. Regards. Tracy.

Thank you Tracy for your always support to my stuff. 🙂 The first photo was the best one out of several shots taken at the same spot in two evenings, so I am so glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
