Happy New Year

I hope 2019 came with bringing smiles and peace to you.

I took a flight to Japan on 30th of Dec at night, to spend new years eve and day with family there.  My first week of 2019 was past as fast as giving one blink.

It was certainly short holiday, and despite the fact that it was really cold there (yes it was to me!) that it was in the range of -1 to 10 deg C, I was clear, energetic and had a great time.  I forgot to take photos in many occasions during the stay, but here are some I caught.

I am glad to be back in here, and I will look forward having more sharing and exchanging photos and journals with you ahead!

A sky canvas in winter morning

What is good about winter season for me is that sunrise comes in later in the early morning window.

I like summer because day goes long due to longer hours of sunlight yet bright and warm, but often it is hard for me to get up even earlier to catch the beautiful sky art before the sun pops up.  Well, I generally get up not that late, sometime between 0530 and 0600, but it was not enough early if I want to catch beautiful dawn.

Whereas, winter often describes as miserable season that makes people gloomy due to shorter sunshine hours and coldness (and dark, perhaps).

However, sunrise and window of my morning routine fits much better here in Sydney in winter.

My motivation to morning photography is getting to quiet these days but that sky canvas I saw yesterday pulls my chin up for it once again.  🙂

A winter sunrise and morning surf

This is a throwback from last winter; July 2017 at Manly Beach, which I just dug up while tidying (or try to do..) my drawer recently.

It was a crisp morning with rough choppy waves banged onto the beach.

The golden morning stuck me on, I could not move but taking morning sunshine over the face for a while.

This photo reminds me of myself being off from sunrise / early morning photography recently.  It may turn to kick me out of bed in one early morning sometime soon..  🙂

A piece of work of the day 11

I haven’t touched any drawing tools after my last pastel workshop held on 17th of December and I just wanted to draw something, just something.  🙂

This was drawn ad-hoc, that I did not have any idea when started drawing.  This is the simply how it ended.  I seem want to draw something about a cold winter and a warm and bright spring season followed by.  Here where I am living at moment is in the middle of summer season but I have friends who are in northern hemisphere too, and many of which are covered with snow at moment.  They miss and wish the warm and bright spring  season to come already.

Tone of this image is a little plain, but I think I managed to express about winter that is gradually moving away and spring season that is coming to closer to you.

Anyway, my first work of 2018 is done, I feel so good.  🙂
